As a wedding photographer, certain venues make my heart skip a beat—Rickety Bridge in Franschhoek is one of them. Nestled in the heart of the Cape Winelands, this historic estate boasts breathtaking mountain views, lush vineyards, and an old-world charm that makes for the most romantic wedding backdrop. When Ryno and Olga chose this magical venue for their big day, I knew we were about to capture something truly special.

The ceremony took place under a lovely arch decorated with an abundance of fresh roses, standing elegantly against the breathtaking Franschhoek mountains. The floral arrangement, a perfect blend of soft pastels and vibrant blooms, created a dreamy, romantic atmosphere.

One of my favorite moments to capture is the getting ready photos—the anticipation, the intricate details, and the thoughtful preparations that lead up to the unforgettable “I do.”

The ceremony was an unforgettable moment filled with love and emotion. The soft, melodic notes of violins filled the air, adding a touch of elegance and romance to the atmosphere. The officiant delivered a heartfelt message, weaving together words of wisdom, love, and commitment that resonated deeply with everyone present.

Stealing a quiet moment with the newlyweds for their first photos as Mr. and Mrs. is always a special part of the day. Rickety Bridge provides a stunning variety of backdrops, from the charming entrance to the picturesque vineyards. One hidden gem is the beautiful purple flower fountain, tucked away beside the reception area, adding a touch of magic to their portraits.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the celebration continued with an elegant dinner, where guests gathered around a beautiful outdoor table. The air was filled with laughter and heartfelt conversations as loved ones shared in the joy of the newlyweds. Heartwarming speeches followed, bringing tears of happiness and moments of reflection as friends and family recounted cherished memories and offered their best wishes. As the evening unfolded, the dance floor came alive beneath a canopy of twinkling stars. The couple shared their first dance, before guests joined in, dancing the night away in a celebration of love, happiness, and new beginnings.
